Well, last Saturday the kids and I went up to Conroe. Matt is working around the clock, so we decided to visit with GB & Grandpa. Saturday evening I had to drive Dad to the ER. He had extremely bad stomach pain. Of course, we tried not to think that it was his heart, but it always crosses our mind. After being in the ER all night, they decided it wasn't his heart. They admitted him into the hospital. It wasn't until Monday evening that they discovered that he needed to have gallbladder surgery. In the mean time, I was scheduled to fly out to Ohio on Tuesday and Wednesday and then to New York on Thursday and Friday. On Monday, Mom came down to help out with the kids (thank goodness), because I was going to be out of town and Matt is working crazy hours. Dad was stuck up in the hospital
waiting on tests and surgery (with no food!). He had his surgery, and they found more stones in his stomach. So, he was scheduled for the next procedure today...it was postponed and then eventually canceled. So basically it took 7 days to have a gallbladder surgery! He was finally released this afternoon and has to go back on Monday to have the procedure. (say prayers)
My New York trip was canceled due to weather. Found this out after I unpacked from my Ohio trip, did a load of laundry, repacked, studied, and was minutes from walking out the door to catch my flight. I was thrilled to have that delayed for a few weeks. I just got another assignment to write and present a science workshop. It is another quick turnaround.
Matt works all weekend...again.
Just found out that Mary Alice is going to be moving into her assisted living home tomorrow. Pray for her and all of the family in Nebraska who is moving her. I know this is just going to be a very difficult time for everyone. We so wish we could be there to help.
So now for the good news... Our niece, Alyson, had her baby girl, Lucy Jane. (I love the name!) She, Ray, Cali and the baby are doing great!
So, that was our week. Trying to keep the boys busy, the house moderately clean, something that resembles food on the table, and jobs intact. Could really use a breather right about now, but we'll make it! ;)
Today I am thankful for moms and dads, healthy babies and mommies, great babysitters, brothers and sisters, friends, and work.
