Reid turns 3!!

Our sweet baby Reid turned three today. I can't believe that just three years ago we were on our way to the hospital to have this little guy. Here are a few pictures to bring back memories!! Ok...now I'm crying again!! What a wonderful day!!

Aunt Suzanne came in to celebrate Reid's third birthday!

Aunt Suzanne got us these cool cups! We were so excited that we each drank a quart and Reid was up 4 or 5 times that night going tot he bathroom! He was also pretty excited about the whole birthday party thing!

Connor and Reid eating Goldfish. I was afraid Reid would never get back into the pool!

Quinn about to make a big splash!

"I'm one, two, THREE!!"
Here we go!!
I love this one! I made Reid a Lightning McQueen cake, but I forgot the forks...No problem here!!! Chocolate was everywhere!!
The kids decorated their cupcakes...

and we swam, swam, swam!!
Baby Kenzie, Sarah and Traci came, too!

After the party, we all headed up to GB and Grandpa's house. Our cousin, Kara, drove in from Fort Worth and spent the weekend with us. Yipee!! Kara won Reid's heart right away!

Reid got "REAL" golf clubs from GB and Grandpa! Tiger Mickle!

"Fore!"

Barnes and Noble Grand Opening!

The area where we live is really growing. In fact, we have a huge new town center that is opening this month. It is only a few blocks from our neighborhood, and we are so excited! Now we won't have to drive 30 minutes to go shopping in a department store. (I'm sure we won't be as excited about the traffic.) Macy's, Dillards, Stride Rite, etc. Yipee. I say yipee...when I know I'll still do most of my shopping at Target and Walmart...hee hee.

Well, with these new shops, they have just opened a Barnes and Noble. This week they are having a soft opening. They have bands and children's characters all week. My friend, Carrie, told us about the big Curious George visit. Matt was working out of town in El Paso, so I fed the kids dinner and we darted off to see Curious! Quinn wasn't so thrilled..."Das a monkey!" at first...but they became fast friends. See the look on his face? Not so happy!
Reid always loves these characters!

Quinn...starting to warm up...

One of the workers noticed Quinn was trying to get a hug so she picked him up for a little squashed face time! He loved it!!

Curious George thinks, "How am I going to get rid of these guys?"

"I LOVE YOU MONKEY!!!" When Curious George finally left the children's area, Quinn followed him all around the store until he got to the store room!! He was running to keep up with him. So funny!!

This will do down as one of my favorite videos! There was  a great jazz band playing and Reid was really getting into it!  Check out these moves! I didn't say a word, he just felt moved by the music.  Janice, you and Mick would have loved them!

Circus

Today we went to the circus! I'm not sure that I've ever been to one. I have a vague memory of going to one when I was a little kid, but I'm not sure. We had a great time, but we were just about done at the half time intermission. It was 2 hours long...Very cool!

Reid said, "When I turn into an elephant, I'm going to have a trunk, too!"
This was Quinn's face the whole time. He clapped a lot!
A family photo...who cares that only two of us are smiling, we are all in the picture!

The next generation of Star Wars Fans

When Matt was a kid, he was a huge Star Wars fan. He had all of the toys and action figures. He actually kept all of them. Ten or twelve years ago, he gave the toys to friends of his with kids. They have outgrown them and gave them back to Matt to give to the boys. Well, it almost brought a tear to Matt's eye to see the boys play with his old toys. As you can see from the pictures, they boys are having fun! The last picture is my favorite!

Here is Matt...wasn't thrilled that I snapped this picture of him. He was getting ready for work and the boys just discovered the toys. I grabbed a few of the action figures so they could play with them. Before I knew it, Matt was saying, "Here, I'll get you the right people, so it will follow the story line." I think he would have stayed home from work if he could have!

Trick Jump!

I'm not sure what this is all about, maybe he watched a little bit of America's Got Talent or Celebrity Circus, but Reid was doing this trick jump all evening!

Water park!

We went to the water park in the neighborhood and stayed about 2 hours on Saturday and Sunday. It is hard to pry their little cold, pruney bodies away from that place! I think Quinn swallows lots of water! He smiles the whole time and sticks out his tongue a lot!

Trip to the park!

We are ready to ride the train!

Today we went to Connor's house. He lives right behind a school with a great playground!  Here is a picture of the boys. This is so sweet! They will be friends for a long time!!

Fourth of July Weekend!!

What a Fourth of July! We went to visit GB & Grandpa and had a very exciting weekend! We took lots of video and pictures, so this is a long post!!

Here are the boys with their girlfriend, Logan, from down the street. She was passing out pretzels and the boys followed her all over the place! It was sad to see her run with that bag and my boys running behind her saying "More pretzels, please!"
We went to King's Orchard and picked blueberries. They were ripe and juicy. Thank goodness we had an overcast day. It made it so much more bearable!
Quinn didn't pick very many blueberries, but he loved pulling the wagon.
Mmmmm, yummy!

Six pounds of blueberries!

The boys spent HOURS fishing and casting!!

Three generations of fisher"men"!

There is a great story to this picture of Reid and his fish. (There always is, isn't there?) Reid was using his fishing pole with a hook, bobber, and bait. After 10 minutes, he caught a fish! We started to reel it in, but it was so big it broke the line! Dad said that it was still running and still on our line because he could see the bobber going all around the water. It actually broke the line right above the bobber, and the catfish was pulling it down into the water and it would pop back up again. It looked like a scene from "Jaws"! Finally, some people on the other side of the pond hooked it for us. So here is Reid with his big fish! The one that ALMOST got away is the one the left, and the second one he caught is on the right! Sooo exciting!Betty Brantner brought over 3' sparklers for the boys! They loved them. Quinn kept wanting to touch the sparkly end...notice, we don't have any pictures of him!!
This was our "float" in the 4th of July parade.
The wagon with stuffed animals on the back was a big hit!

Reid, throw us some candy!

Hot day... good thing GB & Grandpa brought our sippy cups!

Quinn was pitching to Reid. It didn't end so well...Reid got so frustrated that he finally threw the bat over the bench!

                       Forgetaboutit!!

Metro Light Rail and Herman Park

Today we road the train to the park! I can't even tell you how excited the boys were about this. Our friend Aden is ready to go, too!
Quinn LOVES Eli!!

Just waiting for the train...
Yipee!!

Hanging out on the swings with our buddy, Brandon!!

Quinn ate his little popsicle, so Reid decided to share his big ice cream sandwich...soooo sweet!!
Ok...this is my favorite video!!!
