I was driving home from a Christmas party Monday night and I got teary eyed thinking what a great year it has been and how lucky my family is to all be together this year for Christmas... specially after the scare with Dad in February and March with his heart surgery.
This past Wednesday Dad had what seemed to be a heart attack. He woke up feeling OK, took a hot shower and his blood pressure dropped. He tried to take his blood pressure and it wouldn't even register. He called his secretary, Cece, to take him to the emergency room. He wasn't extremely panicked because he had his pace maker and defibrillator in. Poor Cece, she was scared to death. He made it there and everyone rushed in on him. His blood pressure was 78/42. They said it was touch and go for a while, and they had to shock him once. He almost didn't make it. They called Mom and told her to get to the hospital as soon as she could.
It turns out that his defibrillator was turned down too low. He has been in the hospital and will stay there until Sunday or Monday. Thank goodness for our friends, Betty and Cece... they really helped take care of Dad and Mom. The wonderful news is that there was no further damage to his heart. We are all so thankful that he is OK. Thanks everyone who has been praying for him. Now you can add Mom to your prayers. Dad comes home on Sunday or Monday and Mom goes in for hip replacement surgery on Monday morning!
Go now and kiss your loved ones!!
