Weekend in Galveston

We decided to go to Galveston for a few days to just get away. We stayed at Moody Gardens and took in two full days of fun... beach, pool, IMAX movies, 4-D movies, Butterflies, Aquarium, etc...not to mention face painting and smores at night!

So proud of the face paining!! Kids kept coming up to the boys and saying how cool they looked.
They loved the attention from the face painting!

We just had to get these "cool" alligator sunglasses.

Quinn, you are such a tough guy!

Smores....yummmmy!

Scary spiders...

Pets?

We babysat "Woody", Henry and James' hamster. The boys had a good time with him. Very entertaining!
Then...on Saturday when we were on a bike ride, two dogs ran up to the boys. They had collars but no tags. Long story short, our Saturday turned into a "dog" day. We made signs, tried to keep the dogs in the back yard, and played a lot with them. They were really sweet dogs and great with the kids. They just fell in love with them. We kind of got the feeling that someone may have just dropped them off. We were so tempted to keep them. The boys were already in love, but they were too small and could get out of our yard. We were also leaving for Galveston the next day and had to do something with them. So, Matt took them to the animal shelter where they are kept as "lost dogs" for 5 days. After that time they are examined and put up for adoption. I'm too scared to call and check on them, because if their owners haven't gotten them, I'll want to get them and we just can't keep them in our back yard. So, everyone had long "good-byes" and lots of hugs before they left. That night in Quinn's prayers he said, "...and thank you God for giving us puppies for one day!"

Grandpa's Birthday

We went to Conroe to celebrate Grandpa's 66th birthday.

The boys surprised Grandpa with a homemade sign!

They were cracking up because they picked out a card that had a potty in a car. They have no idea what the car said but they thought the picture was funny...so did Grandpa!

REID AND QUINN'S BIRTHDAY PART!!

Well, we had Reid and Quinn's birthday party at Jump N Jungle. They had soooo much fun. They ran in the room and I just saw them zoom by me the rest of the time. They were so excited to celebrate with their friends! GB and Grandpa came down for the celebration. They decided not to partake in the jumping!

Little Matt and Big Matt

Look at this face!! So cute, Natalie!
Here we go Maria!
Henry and Grant
Pizza anyone?!!?

Ok, so this year once again I decided to make the boys' cakes. In the past I used a box. This time I got a recipe from my friend Jenny! So yummy! However, just a tip, butter cream icing isn't so great when you live in Houston and it is 300 degrees outside! It was a little stressful getting these cakes inside without them melting all over! But really, how can you go wrong with a Transformer on top of a cake? We had these Transformers for over a week and they had to sit in the box until the day of the party. That was torture for the boys! They played with the boxes for a week!

"Happy Birthday to you....Happy Birthday to you...."

Connor

We got to play with Connor again before school started! We love our Connor!
He started Kindergarten today! We hope you had fun, Connor!!

Happy 5th Birthday, Reid!!

Today is Reid's 5th birthday. He woke up to balloons and streamers outside his door! We went to a party last night and didn't get in until late, so when Matt tucked him in bed he said, "Tomorrow is your birthday, so you should sleep in." (Hee hee...like that was going to work!)
He got up around 6:35. At first he was a little scared when he came out. He didn't say anything because it was still dark. Then he ran downstairs to tell us about the balloons.
We told him about the story of the day he was born and then came the waiting game to see when Quinn was going to wake up so he could open his present.

Finally everyone was up and it was present time!

Look out.....Wooohaa!! Those are Legos in there.
The drawers are my disillusioned attempt to keep them organized.

GB and Grandpa got the boys each a Lego truck kit and now they are hooked! We've actually had this gift for over a year, but were just afraid they weren't ready for it. Now they are and are pretty excited! I was pretty excited when I walked into the Lego store. Wow! I've never seen anything like that before.
