The Economist Magazine

We had a copy of The Economist on the table. Reid wanted to know if the bear was real and Quinn said, "Is that bear going to eat Obock Obama?"

Nightstands...

The boys love to collect things and keep them on their nightstand. It is getting pretty full! I should take a picture of it every year and see how their interests change.

The REAL Spiderman!

The other night at dinner Reid was asking about the REAL Spiderman...Where does he live? When can he see him? Matt told him that maybe he could see him when he was 5 or 6. We actually looked up how much it would cost for Spiderman to come to your house.

It was serendipity... My friend Jenny and I were talking and she said that Spiderman was going to be at the new Toys-R-Us THIS Saturday!

Of course, we had to wear the capes!
They even got his autograph!
Then, we spent the next 20 minutes looking at the cars isle!

"I swallowed a stacker!" ~ Quinn

So I'm on my way to a photography class when Quinn tells Matt that he swallowed a stacker. It is a little, round, plastic disc the size of a dime and about as tall as 4 dimes. He questioned him and then he changed his mind. I called my friend whos hubby is an ENT and she (he was in surgery) said you may have to be concerned that it will pass through the intestines. So Matt called the doctor while I questioned Quinn over the phone.

"Quinn, did you eat the stacker?"
"Yes"
"Did it go down your throat?"
"No"
"Did you swallow it?"
"Yes"
"Is it in your tummy?"
"No, I spit it out?"
"Where is it?"
"On the floor."
"So you didn't swallow it?"
"Yes, I did."
"It is ok if you swallowed it...just tell me."
(Not that it is ok, we just need the truth. Apparently, we can't handle the truth!)
"No, I didn't."
"AAAAGHHHHHAAAAGGGGGAHHHHH!!!

The doc called back. Quinn is able to keep fluids and liquids down, so he is ok.
I'm not sure if I need to check his poop or not!
It is never dull around here!

4th of July Weekend

We went to GB & Grandpa's for 4th of July weekend.
They always have a big celebration up there.
Lots of fun, but HOT HOT HOT!!

Ok, since I'm usually the one taking pictures, I'm never in them. I always joke that if I come up missing, they won't have a picture to put on posters!! Matt took some pictures... actually about 30 and believe it or not...this was the best one! The others were so silly I wanted to post them all...
Here are a few....

Walking with Grandpa at the fair.
Balloon Swords!!
This was the boys' favorite part. This juggler was really good!
Beautiful Fireworks!
The kids liked them, but were really tired!

We are ready for the parade!!

Today we had our SAHM's 4th of July parade. The kids helped decorate there bikes and wagons and we rode around our neighborhood. It was close to 98 degrees outside. SOOOO HOTTT! The kids looked so cute and had a lot of fun. It was a great photo opportunity for the mommies!

We found an X in the sand! Start digging!

We found something in the sand!

A League of Our Own

Well, I think the boys are just a little young for "organized" sports leagues. I've actually heard of try-outs for 3 year olds...come on...really? But, I wanted them to still have fun practicing all of the skills, so I decided to organize a "League of Our Own". It is with my mom's group and the kids really like it. (All of us moms think it is hot.)

Big Hit!
Bring it home, Quinn!
Look at that stride!

Pirate Ships!

This Saturday morning we went to Lowe's to build a pirate ship!
We have to keep reading the directions or we'll mess up!
"Wow! Look at that pirate ship!!!"
This is our "Arrrr...we are pirates" faces!

This week Reid asked us where all of the pirates were...without getting into a discussion about Somolia, we explained that there weren't very many more because most of the treasures have been found. Needless to say, after a 20 minute discussion, we decided we are going to go to Galveston on Sunday to look for buried treasure! Matt is hoping to find a new set of golf clubs!

Our City is finished!

Our city is complete!
We had an old cardboard box and I was trying to figure out what to do with it. It wasn't great for making a fort because it was so long, so I decided to make a city for the boys to drive their cars on. Like most city projects, this took a long time and the design isn't perfect! I think we started in January and just finished it yesterday! We keep it folded up behind the toy-room sofa. We pull it out every few weeks and it is like a new toy! It still needs a little coloring, but I'm done for a while!! Hee hee!
(I can't believe I forgot to build a construction site!! I'll have to add a side piece later!)

We have all of the important places...Toy-R-Us, Taco Cabana, Sonic, race track, church, school, our friend's house, the airport to pick up Aunt Suzanne, Home Depot and a car dealership!
